Have the Irish vacation you've always dreamed of in 2013 - or if your family roots are in Kerry, let us host you this year for The Gathering!

Curlew Cottage sits high on a hill, just a short, pleasant stroll from a beautiful, secluded beach and the world famous Tralee Golf Club designed and built by Arnold Palmer. The house is surrounded by farmland, and from our windows and garden you can enjoy beautiful, panoramic sea and mountain views, watch the cattle grazing, and enjoy spectacular ocean sunsets. Tralee, Dingle, Killarney and Listowel are all within easy reach by car.

Our newly-furnished house is very spacious and contemporary, yet cozy. The large garden is completely walled and gated, making it safe for children and dogs, and the ground-floor accommodation makes everything easily accessible for elderly or physically disabled guests.

Our location is unmistakably rural, yet all the amenities of Tralee are on our doorstep, with Killarney, Dingle, and Listowel within easy reach. Stay at our house while you enjoy the Rose of Tralee Festival, Listowel Races, or one of the many local summer fairs and festivals; visit family-friendly Banna Strand; surf, swim or dive at Inch and Castlegregory; or enjoy the nearby village of Fenit with its Blue Flag beach, large playground, marina, sailing club, sea excursions, fishing, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Take the kids to the famous Tralee Aquadome; horse-trek or hike in Killarney National Park. Visit Killarney town for spas, shows and shopping, or Dingle town for its music, quirky shops, friendly pubs, gourmet restaurants - and Fungie the Dolphin! Closer to home, visit Ardfert for historic ruins, pizza, pubs and music, or stroll down our road for a swim or a round of golf followed by drinks or dinner.

One of the special benefits of Curlew Cottage is our proximity to Tralee Golf Club, which you can see from our house. The 18-hole course, designed by Arnold Palmer and perched on undulating hills overlooking the beach at Barrow (seen in the movie Ryan's Daughter), is as famous for its breathtaking Atlantic views as it is for the challenges of its famous golf links. TGC boasts a fine clubhouse with bar and restaurant facilities (open to the public) overlooking the Atlantic - a wonderful place to watch spectacular sunsets.

In addition to Tralee Golf Club, there are over a dozen other well-known golf courses within an hour or less drive of Curlew Cottage, ranging from rustic to country-club, including Ballyheigue, Listowel, Ballybunion, Parknasilla, Killarney, Castleisland and our very own Ardfert (9 holes).
